Hi! My name is Ria, and I am the President of the Bissett Accounting Students' Society for the 2026-2027 academic year! I am entering my final year as a double major in Accounting and General Management, with minors in Finance and Economics and Marketing. As I work toward completing my degree, I hope to continue building my experience within the accounting profession and pursue my CPA designation in the future.
My journey with BASS has allowed me to grow tremendously, both personally and professionally. After serving as Partnerships & Sponsorships Director last year, I had the opportunity to connect with incredible students and professionals, build meaningful relationships, and see firsthand the impact that BASS can have on the student experience. I am incredibly excited to bring that experience. I am incredibly excited to bring that experience into my role as President and work alongside our amazing team to create valuable opportunities, lasting connections, and plenty of fun memories for our members along the way.
Outside of school and BASS, you can usually find me planning my next trip, watching a good movie, discovering new music, or spending time with my family and my 11-year-old dog, Buddy! I'm always up for a good conversation, a new adventure, and probably laughing way louder than necessary while doing it!

Hi everyone! My name is Nimrat Toor, and I’m entering my final year of the Bachelor of Business Administration program, majoring in Accounting.
I’m excited to serve as the Vice President of the Bissett Accounting Students’ Society this year. BASS has had a tremendous impact on my university experience by providing opportunities to connect with professionals, develop new skills, and build meaningful relationships. As Vice President, I’m looking forward to supporting our executive team and helping create engaging events that provide students with valuable opportunities to learn, network, and grow both personally and professionally.
Outside of school, you’ll usually find me exploring new restaurants, travelling, or getting lost in a good book. I’m excited for everything we have planned this year and can’t wait to meet and connect with all of you!

Hi everyone! I’m Sama Al Assad, a fourth-year Accounting student at Mount Royal University and your returning Treasurer for a second year! This year, I completed a co-op at EY, where I gained valuable experience and confirmed that accounting is definitely the right path for me.
When I’m not balancing budgets or studying, you’ll probably find me out on a hike, chasing my daily step goal (yes, I check my step count way more often than I’d like to admit), or exploring new coffee spots.
I’m excited for another year with the Accounting Student Society and can’t wait to meet everyone and help make this year a great one!

Anthony De Ruiter is BASS's Financial Executive, keeping the club's budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting operating functionally. He is currently working toward his CPA designation, building on a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, and applies that training as a being a Accounting Technician at Verity LLP and as a Senior Analyst with the Mount Royal Investment Club's Energy Sector team. Anthony genuinely enjoys turning financial data into insights that help the team make smarter decisions.

Hey everyone! My name is Mateo Vrhovac, an accounting student with a goal of obtaining a CPA designation in the future. BASS has been a major part of my academic and professional journey at MRU through its incredible networking opportunities and valuable information for accounting students it provides. I am honoured to be BASS’s CPA Relations Director for the 2026-2027 academic year and to give back to a wonderful community that has provided so much for me.
When I’m not attending class or studying for exams, I stay active with Muay Thai, going to the gym, and, weather permitting, going for relaxing walks in Fish Creek Park. To unwind, I like to read, watch sports, and most importantly, spend quality time with my loved ones.

Hi! My name is Chloey, and I am a fourth-year accounting student at Mount Royal University. I am so excited to be this year’s Communications Executive Director for BASS!
Last year, I had the opportunity to serve as the Student Relations Director, and I am so happy to be back helping students the same way BASS helped me with my own career path not too long ago. I’m excited to be a part of the club. University has been a big part of my growth both academically and personally, and being part of this student organization has made that experience even better.

Outside of school, I like to spend my time going to the gym and training to continuously develop my physical capabilities, and I enjoy skiing both cross-country and downhill once winter comes around.
